Kathmandu: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress is currently underway at the party’s central office in BP Nagar, Sanepa.

Decision on Resignation Expected
The meeting is expected to formally reject the resignation of Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa. In the previous meeting held on Friday, Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma had presented Thapa’s resignation, but most members expressed the view that it should not be accepted on moral grounds.

Review of Election Performance
During Friday’s meeting, Sharma also presented an initial review of the party’s performance in the House of Representatives Election–2082.

General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire had tabled proposals at the start of the discussion, followed by views from several central members and provincial leaders.

Broad Participation in Discussions
Leaders including joint general secretary Farmullah Mansur and multiple central committee members, along with provincial presidents such as Uddhav Thapa (Koshi) and Amar Singh Pun (Lumbini), shared their perspectives during the meeting.

The ongoing meeting is expected to conclude with a formal decision on the resignation and further strategic direction for the party following the recent elections.
